Japanese Stab Binding
Japanese Stab Binding
A bit of a late post but introducing my completed assignment 4
I was very happy with the result of my hand stitched books. I put a lot of patience into binding them, ensuring they were even looking and precise. They're far from perfect, I think it takes a lot of practice to truly master that sort of thing, but I gave it a good effort.

"Horizon"
Series of 4 Books
Copy and thrifted paper, waxed yellow thread.
★
What I'm most satisfied with:
- The choices of the cover and the interior of the book looking very tidy
- Learning such an interesting technique.
- My exploration in using only one photo
- The greater theming of the series.
What I want to improve:
- Better stitching on the tortoiseshell pattern
- Keeping my thread taught.
- Printing on maybe better paper next time.
- Fixing a bleed off the edges for a more immersive work.
