Final Project Update

Tea Book Progress

So after shifting gears away from my original idea, I utilized some left over Arches paper to experiment with tea staining. This is a printmaking 100% cotton rag paper so I knew it would do well with soaking for long periods of time, as well as drying with little warpage.

I picked out about 10 teas to work with, listed here

Pomegranate White Tea
Pineapple Crunch Tea
Red Rose Orange Pekoe
Twinnings Earl Grey
Twinnings Lady Grey
Twinnings English Breakfast
Stash Peppermint Tea
Green Tea
Organic Chai David's Tea
Apple Cinnamon David's Tea

I've been steeping each for about 45 minuets in a mug and have found that result in a consistent binding of colour within the paper fibres, I love it so much I'm considering experimenting with in in much large scale as well.

I plan to put the colophon inside the book, as well as a small "Menu" before the colours, with a corresponding page number both on rice paper, curtesy of Amanda ( Thank youu :) )

I am however uncertain about what to put on the tea tag that will be attached via stitching, Or if I really need to put anything. But I'm so excited for the turn out of this project.
